Mounting evidence has demonstrated that noncoding microRNAs (miRNAs) are crucial regulators of gene expression, in particular, under acute genotoxic stress. Dr. Ju has demonstrated that the chemoresistance in colon cancer stem cells can be reversed by miR-129. The Long Island Bioscience Hub has funded a Feasibility project to further advance the miR-129 based technology for colon cancer.
